Appliances used at many different locations including open air must be connected via a current surge preventing switch. Always wear goggles when using the machine. It is recommended to wear gloves, sturdy non slipping shoes and apron. Do not pierce the motor housing as this could damage the double insulation (use adhesives). Always disconnect the plug from the socket before carrying out any work on the machine. Keep mains lead clear from working range of the machine. Always lead the cable away behind you. Only plug-in when machine is switched off. Always use the additional handle. Only use diamond cutting discs that are sharp and in perfect condition. Replace diamond cutting discs at once if they have splits or are deformed. Accessories must be limited to 10,000 rpm. 1 When cutting stone, a guide has to be used. Always use guard when grinding or cutting. Due care should be taken that sparks flying from the work piece do not contact inflammable materials. Before setting the machine into motion tighten flange nut. In special cases e. g. when the machine is used under extreme humid conditions or is very contaminated with conductive dusts, we recommend the use of an ELCB safety switch (earth leakage circuit breaker) to increase your personal safety. Typically the A-weighted sound pressure level of the tool is 85 dB (A).The noise level when working can exceed 85 dB (A). Wear ear protectors! Typically the weighted acceleration is : 3 m/s2 (WSL 115 XS, WS 100 S, WS 115 S) 4 m/s2 (WSL 125 X, WS 125 S) Do not use this product in another way as stated for normal use. Switching off: Press on­off control then release. 6 Operation 4.1 Installation of Guard Place guard on the gear neck (LEERER MERKER) of the machine and then tighten screw (LEERER MERKER). The position of the guard can be adjusted to the requirements of the work process. When making this adjustment, take care to ensure that the grinding disc can rotate freely. When grinding do not apply pressure to the workpiece by bearing down on the machine but move the grinding disc backward and forward over the working surface. Grinding For best results with grinding discs, keep the disc at an angle at least 30o to the working surface. Overloading the machine during grinding operations will harm the machine, reduce disc life and produce inferior results. Never use cutting discs for grinding operations. Cutting When cutting, avoid tilting the grinder away from the cutting plane. When cutting stone, the use of the guide (LEERER MERKER is necessary. For grinding larger areas use backing pad with abrasive paper. For removal of old paint and for derusting use steel brush. 4.2 Installation of Grinding Disc Secure working spindle (LEERER MERKER) by pressing spindle lock (LEERER MERKER). Only press spindle lock when the machine is turned off. Mount back flange (LEERER MERKER), grinding disc (LEERER MERKER) and flange nut (LEERER MERKER) according to the illustration and tighten flange nut with a pin­type spanner. When the thickness of the disc is less than 5,5 mm use the flange nut with the flat side against the grinding disc. 7 Accessories The range of accessories with part numbers is shown in our catalog. 4.3 Mains connection Connect only to a single-phase AC current supply and only to the mains voltage specified on the rating plate. Connection to sockets without earth protection is possible as the appliance features protective insulation to DIN 57 740/ VDE 0740 and CEE 20. Radio suppression complies with the European standard EN 55014. When fitting the plug, make sure that the brown (live) wire of this appliance is connected to the plug terminal marked L or coloured red, and the blue (neutral) wire of this appliance is connected to the plug terminal marked N or coloured black. Under no circumstances must the wires of this appliance be connected to the earth terminal of the plug marked either E, with the earth symbol or coloured green or green/yellow. 8 Service The ventilation slots of the machine must be kept clear at all times. Use only AEG accessories and spare parts. Should components need to be replaced which have not been described, please contact one of our AEG service agents (see our list of guarantee/service addresses). Steckdosen in Außenbereichen müssen mit Fehlerstrom-Schutzschaltern ausgerüstet sein. Das verlangt die Installationsvorschrift für Ihre Elektroanlage. Bitte beachten Sie das bei der Verwendung unseres Gerätes ­ sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Elektroinstallateur. Beim Arbeiten mit der Maschine stets Schutzbrille tragen. Schutzhandschuhe, festes und rutschsicheres Schuhwerk und Schürze werden empfohlen. Gehäuse der Maschine nicht anbohren, da sonst die Schutzisolierung unterbrochen wird (Klebeschilder verwenden). Vor allen Arbeiten an der Maschine Stecker aus der Steckdose ziehen. Anschlußkabel stets vom Wirkungsbereich der Maschine fernhalten. Kabel immer nach hinten von der Maschine wegführen. Maschine nur ausgeschaltet an die Steckdose anschließen. Stets den Zusatzhandgriff verwenden. 3 Nur scharfe und einwandfreie Diamanttrennscheiben verwenden, rissige oder verbogene Diamanttrennscheiben sofort auswechseln. Zubehör muß für 80 m/s zugelassen sein. Zur Sicherheit beim Trennen von Stein einen Führungsschlitten verwenden. Beim Schruppen und Trennen immer mit Schutzhaube arbeiten. Beim Schleifen Funkenflug beachten, da Brandgefahr bei entzündbaren Materialien besteht. Die Flanschmutter muß vor Inbetriebnahme der Maschine festgezogen sein. Bei extremen Einsatzbedingungen (z.B. beim Glattschleifen von Metallen mit dem Stützteller und Vulkanfiber-Schleifscheiben) kann sich eine starke Verschmutzung im Innern des Winkelschleifers aufbauen. Es empfiehlt sich in solchen Fällen die Verwendung einer stationären Absauganlage, eine Verkürzung der Reinigungszyklen und/oder das Vorschalten eines Fehlerstrom- (FI) -Schutzschalters. Einschalten: Ein-/Ausschalter (LEERER MERKER) ohne Druck nach vorne schieben, dann vorn drücken. Ein-/Ausschalter ist arretiert. Ausschalten: Ein-/Ausschalter hinten drücken und loslassen. 6 Handhabung Schleifen Beim Schleifen nicht in das Werkstück hineindrücken, sondern Schleifscheibe gleichmäßig über das Werkstück hin­ und herbewegen. Schruppschleifen Die beste Wirkung beim Schruppschleifen wird erreicht, wenn die Schleifscheibe in einem Winkel von mindestens 30o zur Schleifebene angesetzt wird. Zu starke Belastung während des Schleifens schadet dem Winkelschleifer und erhöht den Schleifscheibenverbrauch, die Schleifleistung wird schlechter. Niemals Trennscheiben zum Schruppschleifen verwenden. Trennschleifen Bei Trennarbeiten Winkelschleifer in der Schleifebene nicht verkanten. Die Trennscheibe muß eine saubere Schnittkante aufweisen. Beim Trennen von Stein ist der Führungsschlitten (LEERER MERKER) Vorschrift! Zum Flächenschleifen Kunststoffschleifteller mit Schleifblatt verwenden. Zum Entfernen alter Farbanstriche oder zum Entrosten eignet sich eine Stahldrahtbürste (LEERER MERKER). 4 Vor Inbetriebnahme ! Vor allen Arbeiten an der Maschine Stecker aus der Steckdose ziehen. 4.1 Montage der Schutzhaube Schutzhaube (LEERER MERKER) auf den Spannhals (LEERER MERKER) der Maschine stecken und Schraube (LEERER MERKER) festziehen. Die Stellung der Schutzhaube kann den Arbeitserfordernissen angepaßt werden; dabei darauf achten, daß sich die Schleifscheibe frei drehen kann. 4.2 Montage der Schleifscheibe Arbeitsspindel (LEERER MERKER) durch Drücken auf die Spindelarretierung (LEERER MERKER) feststellen.
