Pass the booklet on to whoever might acquire the appliance at a future date. -1- ELECTRIC KITCHEN KNIFE KH 550 Intended use The electric knife is suitable for cutting various types of foodstuff. It is intended for domestic use only, not for commercial applications. Safety notes To avoid potentially fatal electric shocks: · The rating of the local power supply must tally completely with the details given on the rating plate of the appliance. · NEVER submerse the motor block in water. Wipe it off with a damp cloth only. · Arrange for damaged power cables and/or plugs to be exchanged as soon as possible by a qualified specialist or the Customer Service . · Arrange for appliances that do not operate correctly, or have been damaged, to be inspected and/or repaired by Customer Service as soon as possible. · NEVER subject the appliance to rain and do not use it in wet or moist environments. Take steps to ensure that the power cable never becomes wet or moist during use. To avoid fire risks and burn injuries: · This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensorial or mental cabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. · Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. · Ensure that the power plug can be quickly removed from the socket in the event of danger and that people cannot stumble over the power cable. · Risk of Injury! The blades are very sharp. Time (Continuous Operation) details how long an appliance may be used without the motor overheating and being damaged. When the given C.O. Time has been reached, the appliance must be switched off until the motor has cooled itself down. The blades are very sharp - there is a risk of personal injury! 1. Select the blade suitable for the task to be done: · The universal knife blade u with the coarse, short teeth for cooked meats (without bones), cooked poultry, bread, cakes, filled bread rolls, fruit (without pips or stones) and vegetables. · The freezer-knife blade y with the long teeth for lightly frozen or partly thawed foodstuffs, but not for fully deep-frozen foodstuffs. Important: NEVER try to cut through bones. This could irreparably damage the appliance. 2. Bring the selected two blades together as shown in Fig. 1: Abb.1 Notice: NEVER use two different blades at the same time. Should you do so, the electric knife will not cut correctly and it could be irreparably damaged. 3. Hold the blades y/u with the finger protection grips i and insert them into the blade insert slot q. The teeth of the blades must be pointing downwards. The blades y/u must engage audibly. -4- Cutting foodstuffs Important: ALWAYS cut away from the body, NEVER towards the body. The sawing blades y/u can cause serious physical injuries. 1. Insert the power plug t into the power socket. 2. Press and hold the On/Off switch e with the thumb. At the same time, press the safety switch r with the other fingers. Note: The electric knife only runs when the On/Off switch e and the safety switch r are pressed at the same time. 3. Guide the blade y/u through the foodstuff to be cut. Important: Never operate the electric knife for longer than 15 minutes without a break. When the 15 minutes of continuous use is reached, leave the appliance switched off until the motor has cooled down completely. Otherwise, the appliance could be irreparably damaged by overheating. 4. Release the safety switch r and the On/Off switch e when the cutting task has been completed. Removing the blades 1. Remove the power plug t from the power socket. 2. To remove the blades y/u from the blade insert slot q, firmly hold the blades by the finger protection grips i. 3. Press the blade release button w. 4. Carefully remove the blades y/u from the blade insert slot q. -5- Cleaning Important: Before cleaning, ALWAYS remove the power plug t from the wall socket and the blades y/u from the appliance. Important: NEVER submerse the motor block in water. Risk of electric shock. Clean the blades with hot water and detergent. Afterwards, dry them well. Wipe the motor unit with a lightly moistened cloth only. For stubborn soiling, apply some mild detergent to the cloth. Important: Do not use aggressive or chemical cleansers for cleaning. These can attack the upper surfaces and permanently damage the appliance. Disposal Do not dispose of the appliance in your normal domestic waste. This product is subject to the European guideline 2002/96/EC. Dispose of the appliance through an approved dis-posal centre or at your community waste facility. Observe the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt, please contact your waste disposal centre. Dispose of all packaging materials in an environmentally responsible manner. -6- Warranty & Service The warranty for this appliance is for 3 years from the date of purchase. This appliance has been manufactured with care and meticulously examined before delivery. Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase date. Should a claim need to be made under the warranty, please make contact by telephone with our service department. Only in this way can a post-free despatch for your goods be assured. The warranty covers ONLY claims for material and maufacturing defects, not for wearing or consumable or for damage to fragile components. This product is for private use only and is not intended for commercial applications. The warranty will become void in the event of abusive and improper handling, use of force and internal tampering not carried or approved by our authorized service branch. Se on tarkoitettu ainoastaan yksityiskäyttöön, ei ammattikäyttöön. Turvaohjeet Näin vältät hengenvaarallisen sähköiskun: · Virtalähteen jännitteen on vastattava laitteen tyyppikilven tietoja. · Älä koskaan upota moottorilohkoa veteen. Pyyhi se ainoastaan kostealla liinalla. · Anna vialliset virtajohdot tai verkkopistokkeet heti valtuutetun ammattihenkilöstön tai valtuutetun huolto-liikkeen vaihdettavaksi vaarojen välttämiseksi. · Jos laite ei toimi moitteettomasti tai on vaurioitunut, anna se välittömästi valtuutetun huoltoliikkeen tarkas-tettavaksi ja korjattavaksi. · Älä altista laitetta sateelle, äläkä myöskään koskaan käytä sitä kosteassa tai märässä ympäristössä. Annetun LK-ajan jälkeen laite on kytkettävä pois päältä niin pitkäksi aikaa, että moottori on jäähtynyt. Veitset ovat erittäin teräviä. Loukkaantumisvaara! 1. Valitse sovelias veitsi (kummassakin 2 terää): · Leikkuuveitsi u karkeine, lyhyine hammastuksineen keitetylle lihalle (luuttomalle), keitetylle siipikarjalle, leivälle, kakuille, voileiville, hedelmille (ilman kiviä) ja vihanneksille. · Pakasteveitsi y pitkine hammastuksineen vähän jäisille tai sulaneille elintarvikkeille, ei kuitenkaan täysin läpijäätyneille. Huomio: Älä koskaan yritä leikata luita. Se vaurioittaa laitteen korjauskelvottomaksi. 2. Aseta kaksi sopivaa terää yhteen kuvassa 1 osoitetulla tavalla: Ohje: Älä koskaan käytä kahta erilaista terää yhdessä. Muutoin sähköveitsi ei leikkaa oikein ja saattaa vaurioitua korjauskelvottomaksi. 3. Ota kiinni veitsen y/u sormisuojuksista i ja työnnä veitsi veitsiaukkoon q. Hampaiden tulee osoittaa alaspäin. Veitsen y/u tulee lukittua paikoilleen kuuluvasti. - 12 - Elintarvikkeiden leikkaaminen Huomio: Leikkaa aina itsestäsi poispäin, älä koskaan itseesi päin. Sahateräiset veitset y/u aiheuttavat vakavia vammoja. 1. Työnnä verkkopistoke t pistorasiaan. 2. Paina ja pidä virtakytkintä e painettuna peukalolla. Paina samanaikaisesti turvakytkintä r toisilla sormilla. Ohje: Sähköveitsi käy ainoastaan, kun virtakytkintä e ja turvakytkintä r painetaan samanaikaisesti. 3. Vie veitsi y/u leikattavan elintarvikkeen läpi. Huomio: Älä koskaan käytä sähköveistä 15 minuuttia pidempään ilman taukoa. Anna sähköveitsen olla sammutettuna 15 minuutin jälkeen niin kauan, että moottori on jäähtynyt. Muutoin ylikuumeneminen voi vaurioittaa laitetta korjauskelvottomaksi. 4. Vapauta turvakytkin r ja virtakytkin e, kun olet lopettanut leikkaamisen. Veitsen purkaminen 1. Irrota verkkopistoke t pistorasiasta. 2. Kun irrotat veistä y/u veitsiaukosta q, pidä terien sormisuojuksista i kiinni. 3. Paina veitsen vapautuspainiketta w. 4. Vedä veitsi y/u varovasti veitsiaukosta q. - 13 - Puhdistus Loukkaantumisvaara! Irrota verkkopistoke t ennen jokaista puhdistusta ja irrota veitsi y/u. Sähköiskun vaara! Vaara: Älä koskaan upota moottorilohkoa veteen. Sähköiskun vaara! Puhdista veitsiosa kuumalla vedellä ja astianpesuaineella. Kuivaa veitsiosa puhdistuksen jälkeen hyvin. Pyyhi moottorilohko ainoastaan kevyesti kostutetulla liinalla. Jos tahrat ovat kovapintaisia, lisää liinaan mietoa astianpesuainetta. Huomio: Älä käytä puhdistukseen voimakkaita tai kemiallisia puhdistusaineita. Nämä vahi ...
