This device is not to be used on people or animals. Other uses or modifications of the device shall be considered as improper use and may lead to dangers such as the risk of loss of life through injury or accident, as well as damage to property. The manufacturer will not accept liability for loss or damage arising from improper use. The advice and instructions will help you to avoid risk to life, accidents and damage to property. Therefore you must read carefully through the following information concerning safety and proper use. J Risk of loss of life and accident to infants and children! Never leave children unsupervised with the packaging materials or the device. There is a risk of suffocation and loss of life from electric shock. Children often underestimate the dangers associated with electrical devices. Always keep children away from the device. T his device is not intended to be used by persons (including children) with restricted physical, sensory or mental abilities or with insufficient experience and / or knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person who is responsible for their safety or have received instruction on how to use the device from such a responsible person. Children must never be allowed to play with the device. K eep the device away from rain or moisture. Water entering an electrical device increases the risk of electric shock. D o not use the lead for any purpose for which it was not intended, e.g. to carry the device or to pull the plug out of the 12 V socket. Keep the lead away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts of the device. Damaged or tangled leads or plugs increase the risk of electric shock. A damaged device, lead or plug presents a danger to life from electric shock. Frequently check the condition of the device, lead and plug. D o not use a device with damaged parts. If a dangerous situation arises pull out the plug from the socket immediately. WaRnIng! Never open up the device. Always have any repairs carried out or replacement parts fitted at the service centre or by an electrical equipment repair specialist. J hen not in use always ensure that electrical W devices are kept out of reach of children. Do not let anyone use the device if he or she is not familiar with it or has not read the instructions and advice. Electrical devices are dangerous when they are used by inexperienced people. Q Operation Before first use Q J J ake all the parts carefully out of the packaging T and remove all the packaging material. Dispose of all the packaging material in an environmentally friendly manner. J ully unwind the lead attached to the 12 V F plug 3 . note: Always make sure that the dust filter 11 is installed before you use the device. Q Fitting and removing attachments J J adapter piece 4 : You need the adapter piece 4 in order to use the extension hose 6 and the large brush 7 . j Insert the adapter piece 4 snugly into the front nozzle 5 . Extension hose 6 : Use the extension hose 6 in combination with the large brush 7 . j Insert the smaller end of the extension hose 6 snugly into the adapter piece 4 . j Insert the large brush 7 snugly into the extension hose 6 . Large brush 7 : Use this attachment e.g. for cleaning larger surfaces such as seats or car mats. j Insert the large brush 7 snugly into the adapter piece 4 . You can also use the large brush 7 with the extension hose 6 as described above. J J GB/IE/CY 7 Operation / Servicing and cleaning / Disposal Small brush 8 : This attachment has harder bristles and is therefore very suitable for loosening stubborn dirt, e.g. on the upholstery or in the footwells, before vacuuming it away, see Fig. D. j Insert the small brush 8 snugly into the front nozzle 5 . Crevice tool 9 : Use this attachment to get into narrow, difficult-toaccess places. j Insert the crevice tool 9 snugly into the front nozzle 5 . Removing attachments: j Simply pull the attachment off the front nozzle 5 , the adapter piece 4 or the extension hose 6 . Q j j j j j Take out the dust filter 11. Rinse out the dust filter 11 in cold water and wait until it is completely dry again before you place it back into the dust container 10. Empty the dust container 10 completely. Carefully replace the dust filter 11 back into the dust container 10. Never use the vacuum cleaner without the dust filter 11 in place. Attach the dust container 10 carefully back on to the housing 12 and ensure the two parts engage. Clean all the housing with a soft, dry cloth. Never use liquids or cleaning agents, as they may damage the device. aTTEnTIOn! The front nozzle 5 must be free and unobstructed at all times. Blockages can lead to overheating and damage to the motor. Q Switching On / Off Insert the 12 V plug 3 into the 12 V socket / cigarette lighter socket of the vehicle, see Fig. C. To switch the device on, press the ON / OFF switch 2 forwards into the ON position. To switch the device off, press the ON / OFF switch 2 back into the OFF position. Pull the 12 V plug 3 out of the 12 V socket after use. j j j j Disposal The packaging is composed of environmentally-friendly materials that can be disposed of at a local recycling centre. Do not dispose of electrical devices with the household rubbish! Tip: If you going to vacuum for a long period, we recommend that you carry out the cleaning with the engine running. Q In accordance with European Directive 2002 / 96 / EC, worn out electrical devices must be collected separately and taken for environmentally compatible recycling. Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details of how to dispose of your worn out electrical devices. Servicing and cleaning The device requires no maintenance. J TTEnTIOn! Before you clean the device a itself, pull the 12 V plug 3 out of the 12 V socket, otherwise there Is a risk of electric shock. j For the best vacuuming performance always empty the dust container 10 frequently, if possible after each use. j Press the unlocking button 1 and take the dust container 10 out of the housing 12. 8 GB/IE/CY Information Q Information Service centre Q Warranty Q WaRnIng!
