Introduction
Information for these operating instructions
These operating instructions are a component of the Hot Stone Massage Set SHS 220 A1 (henceforth designated as the appliance) and they provide you with important information about the intended use, safety, installation and connection as well as operation of the appliance. The operating instructions must be constantly kept available close to the appliance. They are to be read and applied by everyone assigned to operate the appliance and correct malfunctions in it. Keep these operating instructions and hand them over with the appliance to any future owners.

Intended use
This appliance is intended exclusively for massaging the human body using warm mudstones. It is intended for use only in indoor areas in domestic households. This appliance is not designed for use in commercial or industrial applications. WARNING Risks from improper use! Risks may be incurred by using the appliance for unintended purposes and/or other types of use. Use the appliance exclusively for its intended purposes. Observe the procedures described in these operating instructions. No warranty claims of any kind will be accepted for damage caused by improper use, incompetent repairs, unauthorised modifications or for the use of unapproved relacement parts. The operator alone bears liability.

Warnings
In the existing operation instructions the following warnings are used: DANGER A warning at this danger level indicates a potentially dangerous situation. In the event that the hazardous situation is not avoided it can lead to death or serious injury. The directives in this warning are there in order to avoid the danger of death or serious injury. WARNING A warning of this danger level signifies a possible dangerous situation. If the dangerous situation is not avoided it could lead to injuries. The directives in this warning are there to avoid personal injuries.

IMPORTANT A warning at this danger level signifies possible property damage. If the situation is not avoided it could lead to property damage. The directives in this warning are there to avoid property damage.
NOTICE A notice signifies additional information that assists in the handling of the appliance.

Safety instructions
In this chapter you receive important safety information regarding the handling of the appliance. This appliance complies with the statutory safety regulations. Incorrect usage can lead to injuries and property damage. For safe handling of the appliance observe the following safety information: DANGER - ELECTRIC SHOCK! Before use, check the appliance for signs of visible external damage. Do not take into use an appliance that is damaged or has been dropped. To avoid risks, arrange for defective power plugs and/or cables to be replaced at once by qualified technicians or our Customer Service Department. Repairs should only be carried out by authorised specialist companies or by the Customer Service Department. Incompetent repairs can result in risks to the user. In addition warranty claims become void. Protect the appliance from moisture and liquid penetration. Never submerge the appliance in water, do not place the appliance in the vicinity of water and do not stand any object filled with liquid (i.e. vases) on the appliance. Connect the appliance ONLY to an earthed mains power socket. When removing the plug from the mains power socket, always pull the plug itself, never the power cable. If you do not, the cable could be damaged. Do not touch the appliance if it has fallen into water! Risk of electric shock! Disconnect the plug IMMEDIATELY and first then extract the appliance from the water! DO NOT take the appliance back into operation. Make contact with the Customer Service Department as soon as possible. WARNING - RISK OF INJURY! This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with restricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or deficiences in experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or receive from this person instruction in how the appliance is to be used. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Packaging material should not be used as a play thing. There is a risk of suffocation! DO NOT transport the appliance when it is in use. Injury hazard!

WARNING - PROPERTY DAMAGE! Defective components may only be replaced with original replacement parts. Only by using original replacement parts can you guarantee that the safety requirements are complied with. Do not use the appliance in damp areas. When the appliance is not in use, always remove the plug from the mains power socket. This prevents an inadvertent heating of the appliance. Ensure that the appliance, the power cable or the plug does not come into contact with heated items such as hot plates or open flames. Do not use an external timing switch or a separate remote control system to operate the appliance. Do not place any objects on the appliance. Do not operate the appliance in the vicinity of open flames (e.g. candles). Avoid direct sunlight. If malfunctions occur or a thunder storm threatens, disconnect the plug from the mains power socket. Never leave the appliance unattended while it is in use. NOTICE A repair to the appliance during the warranty period may only be carried out by a Customer Service firm authorised by the manufacturer, if it is not, warranty claims for subsequent damages cannot be considered. A massage with hot stones is not recommended if you are pregnant, as it could possibly overburden your circulation system. A massage with hot stones is not recommended when outdoor temperatures are over 25°C, as it could possibly overburden your circulation system. Should you feel uncomfortable with the massage, stop it immediately.

Unpacking
Remove all appliance parts and the operating instructions from the carton. Remove all packing material.

Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the appliance from transport damage. The packaging materials are selected from the point of view of their environmental friendliness and disposal technology and are therefore recyclable. The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit saves raw materials and reduces the volume of generated waste. Dispose of packaging material that is no longer needed according to the regionally established regulations. NOTICE If possible preserve the appliance's original packaging during the warranty period so that, in the case of a warranty claim, you can package the appliance properly for return.
Set-up location requirements
For the safe and fault free operation of the appliance, the installation location must fulfill the following conditions: Place the appliance on a firm, flat and level surface. Do not operate the appliance in a hot, wet or very humid location or in the vicinity of flammable materials. The surfaces of furniture may contain components that could affect and soften the rubber pads on the appliance. If necessary, place an anti-slip mat under the rubber pads of the appliance. The mains power socket must be easily accessible so that, in an emergency, the plug can be quickly disconnected.

Electrical connection
Before connecting the appliance, compare the connection data (voltage and frequency) on the rating plate of the appliance with that of your power supply network. This data must be compatible to avoid possible damage to the appliance. Check to ensure that the appliance's connection cable is not damaged and that it has not been laid over hot surfaces and/or sharp edges. Ensure that the connection cable is not tightly stretched or kinked. Do not allow the power cable to hang over edges (trip wire effect).
Using the appliance
Before the first use, clean the appliance and all accessories as described in the chapter "Cleaning and Care".
Warming the stones up
After you have placed the appliance at a suitable location... 1) Place the stones 2 3 on the warm-up pins 7 of the warm-up station 4. 2) Place the cover 1 on the warm-up station 4. 3) Insert the plug into a power socket. 4) Set the temperature selector 5 to the desired heat level: 1 = lukewarm (approx. 50°C) 2 = warm (approx. 60°C). The control lamp 6 glows. 5) Wait until the stones 2 3 have been warmed. Depending on the ambient temperature, the warming of the stones 2 3 can take up to approx. 45 minutes. 6) When the stones 2 3 have reached the set temperature, after about 45 minutes, turn the temperature selector 5 to the level "0".
