These operating instructions must be constantly kept available close to the appliance. They are to be read and applied by everyone assigned to operate the appliance. Keep these operating instructions and hand them over with the appliance to any future owners. Copyright This documentation is copyright protected. The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for damage caused by failure to observe the instructions, improper use, inappropriate repairs, making unauthorized changes or for using unapproved replacement parts. 2 Electric Corkscrew Warnings In the existing operation instructions the following warnings are used: WARNING A warning at this danger level indicates a potentially dangerous situation. If the dangerous situation is not avoided it can lead to injuries. The directives in this warning are there to avoid personal injuries. GB IE IMPORTANT A warning of this danger level signifies possible property damage. If the situation is not avoided it can lead to property damage. The directives in this warning are there to avoid property damage. NOTICE A notice signifies additional information that assists in the handling of the appliance. Electric Corkscrew 3 GB IE Intended use This corkscrew is intended exclusively for the uncorking of standard bottles of wine. This corkscrew is not suitable for removing/opening other types of closures on bottles, such as crown caps or screw caps. It is intended for use in private households only. Do not use it commercially. This appliance is not intended for any other use or for uses beyond those mentioned. WARNING Risk from unintended use! Risk can come from the appliance if used for unintended purposes and/or other types of use. Use the appliance exclusively for intended purposes. Observe the procedures described in these operating instructions. Claims of any kind for damage resulting from unintended use will not be excepted. The operator alone bears liability. Safety instructions For safe handling of the appliance observe the following safety information: WARNING - RISK OF INJURY! Before use, check the appliance for signs of external damage. Do not put into operation an appliance that is damaged or has been dropped. This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with restricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or deficiences in experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or receive from this person instruction in how the appliance is to be used. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Repairs should only be carried out by authorized specialist companies or by our Customer Service department. Incompetent repairs can result in significant risks for the user. In addition, warranty claims become void. NEVER submerse the appliance in water or other liquids. Risk of electric shock! NEVER grasp the appliance with wet or moist hands. There is a risk of receiving an electric shock! UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you continue to use the charger if damage to it is visible. 4 Electric Corkscrew Do not set the corkscrew and the charger up in damp environments. If you do, moisture could penetrate into the corkscrew or the charger. There will then be a risk of electric shock! Do not place the corkscrew or the charger in the immediate vicinity of water, e.g. by bathtubs or swimming pools. Ensure that no liquids can permeate into the corkscrew/the charger when it is in use. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you clean the corkscrew and charger by placing them in, or holding them under, water! If you do, there is the risk of receiving an electric shock! To charge the corkscrew, use only the supplied charger station with the supplied charge supply device. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you use the charger to charge other appliances. Otherwise, the corkscrew, the charger and its charge supply device plus the appliance being charged could be damaged beyond repair. There would then be the danger of receiving an electric shock and/or causing a fire! Connect the appliance only to correctly installed and earthed mains power sockets. Otherwise, there is the great risk of receiving an electric shock. Do not place the corkscrew and the charging station at locations which are exposed to direct solar radiation. Doing so may cause the corkscrew or the charging station to overheat and become irreparably damaged. There is also the risk of fire! Do not place the corkscrew and the charger in the immediate vicinity of sources of heat. This includes ovens, heating fans and similar appliances as well as ventilation openings of other electronic appliances. Do not place open flame sources - such as burning candles - in the immediate vicinity of the corkscrew and charger. Doing so may cause the corkscrew or the charging station to become irreparably damaged. There is also the risk of fire! GB IE Electric Corkscrew 5 GB IE ATTENTION - PROPERTY DAMAGE Protect the appliance from moisture and liquid penetration. Protect the appliance against shocks, moisture, dust, chemicals, extreme temperature fluctuations and too close heat sources (ovens, radiators). NEVER submerse the appliance in water or other liquids. NOTICE For damages... ­ caused by opening the housing of the corkscrew, charger and/or charge supply device ­ caused by repairs attempted or carried out by non-qualified persons ­ caused by charging the corkscrew with anything other than the supplied charger ­ caused to external devices by charging them with the charger for the corkscrew ­ caused by improper use of the corkscrew, charger and/or charge supply device ... no liability/warranty will be assumed! A repair to the appliance during the warranty period may only be carried out by a customer service department authorized by the manufacturer otherwise no additional warranty claims can be considered for subsequent damages. 6 Electric Corkscrew Items supplied / Inspection on delivery WARNING Risk of suffocation! Packaging material should not be used as a play thing. There is a risk of suffocation! The appliance is delivered with the following components as standard: Corkscrew Charging station Charge Supply Device Foil cutter Operating instructions NOTICE Check the contents to make sure everything is there and for visible damage. If the contents are incomplete, or are damaged due to defective packaging or transportation, contact the Service Hotline. GB IE Disposal of the packaging The packaging protects the appliance from transport damage. The packaging materials are selected from the point of view of their environmental friendliness and disposal technology and are therefore recyclable. The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit saves on raw material and reduces generated waste. Dispose of packaging material that is no longer needed according to the regionally established regulations. NOTICE If possible preserve the appliance's original packaging during the warranty period so that in the case of a warranty claim you can package the appliance properly for return. WARNING - RISK OF INJURY! Do not set the the corkscrew and the charger 8 up in damp environments. If you do, moisture could penetrate into the corkscrew or the charger 8. There will then be a risk of electric shock! 5) Insert the charge supply device 6 to the charging station 8 into a mains power socket. 6) The corkscrew contains batteries that have to be recharged via the charger 8. Therefore, the corkscrew itself requires no power cable. To charge the corkscrew, place it in the charger 8.
